WAGNER Group GmbH can look back on 50 years of company history. Since its founding in 1976, the company has evolved from a specialized engineering firm into a leading international provider of technical fire protection solutions. Today, WAGNER has a presence in 15 countries and employs more than 800 people worldwide.
The anniversary is themed “Shaping the future. Driven by Safety.” – a commitment that has been reflected in the company’s technological development over the past five decades.
Milestones in Preventive Fire Protection
WAGNER is one of the technology leaders in early fire detection and fire prevention. Its trendsetting innovations include highly sensitive, immune to nuisance alarms aspirating smoke detectors for very early fire detection, as well as oxygen-reduction systems for active fire prevention. The fire protection solutions, which are always tailored to individual customer needs, are used worldwide in automated as well as sensitive areas, such as logistics centers, data centers, industrial facilities, museums, and archives.
Through its holistic approach – ranging from risk analysis and planning to operation and service – WAGNER helps its customers detect fires early or prevent them entirely under defined conditions, thereby avoiding business interruptions and minimizing consequential damage.
Sustainability and System Responsibility
In addition to technological innovation, the company is increasingly focusing on sustainability: energy-efficient systems, resource-conserving system design, and durable components are among its key development goals. With its “Fire Protection 4.0” approach, WAGNER combines modern sensor technology, digital networking, and intelligent data analysis to create future-proof, proactive fire protection solutions. At the same time, the company continuously invests in the training of skilled workers and the systematic expansion of knowledge.
This long-term focus is also reflected in the company’s structure: Many employees have been with WAGNER for decades, and the third generation of the founding family is now taking on responsibility within the company. The headquarters in Langenhagen have been continuously expanded and technologically upgraded – serving as a hub for development, manufacturing, and international operations.
Looking Ahead
“WAGNER’s 50th anniversary is a milestone – and at the same time an incentive to further expand our role as a driver of innovation in fire protection,” says Torsten Wagner, Managing Director of WAGNER Group GmbH. “The pioneering spirit of our company’s founder, my father Werner Wagner, continues to shape our thinking and actions to this day. Building on this foundation, we develop solutions for the increasing safety requirements of tomorrow.”

Werner Wagner, an innovative pioneer in the field of technical fire protection, looks back with pride and gratitude on half a century of his company’s history – and is also looking toward the future.

Torsten Wagner sees WAGNER as a driver of innovation in technical fire protection.
