The British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association (BAFSA), the Fire Industry Association (FIA) and the International Water Mist Association (IWMA) had joined forces to organize the UK Water Mist Seminar 2016.
The CPD-accredited event took place at BRE in Watford on 8th March. With 125 delegates it was a huge success and the three associations as well as the speakers, the sponsors and the participants were extremely satisfied with the day.
Bettina McDowell, IWMA association secretary, says: “The demand for tickets was overwhelming. The interest in water mist is definitely growing – especially in the UK!”
The programme was laid out to teach (How does water mist work? / Maintenance Requirements) and to update (International Standards and British Standards 8489 and 8458).
Presentations on case studies showed how water mist systems can be applied. Qualifications and Training as well as the viewpoint of insurance companies were further topics.
The seminar was accompanied by an exhibition during which manufacturers explained their products and went into project details.
