The new Hyatt Centric Andaz Dubai La Mer relies on a fire early warning system, which is more likely to be used in industrial plants, warehouses or data centres: with the SecuriSmoke ASD aspirating smoke detector from Securiton, the world-renowned hotel chain is counting on reliable fire protection, which also fits in with the innovative hotel design concept “Andaz”.
In recent years, the world-famous Hyatt hotel chain has established its own series of luxury hotels with the “Andaz” hotel concept. The creators are convinced that you get to know a place better when you experience it with all your senses. Each of the Andaz hotels is intended to be a reflection of the surrounding neighbourhoods in order to give guests the opportunity to experience their destination with its different expressions of local culture up close. Andaz is a word from the Hindi language and means “personal style”.
Each Andaz hotel is accordingly unique; design, shops, restaurants and hotel rooms reflect local architecture and lifestyle. The Hyatt Centric Andaz Dubai La Mer has 156 rooms and suites. It also has several conference rooms, two restaurants as well as a bar and a pool with beautiful panoramic views on the roof terrace. Well-known highlights of the city – such as the Dubai Mall, the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Frame – are within easy reach of the hotel.
Together with its local partner Cignetix LLC, Securiton succeeded in convincing the operators of the new hotel of the benefits of an unconventional fire detection system. In order to do justice to the hotel’s unique design, they proposed the use of a smoke aspiration system instead of combined smoke and heat detectors, which are visibly installed on the ceilings. The aspiration pipes of the SecuriSmoke ASD aspirating smoke detectors can be hidden behind the false ceilings.
As SecuriSmoke ASDs are especially designed for rooms with high ceilings, they fit perfectly into the high lobby and reception area of the new Hyatt Centric Andaz Dubai La Mer Hotel. The smoke aspiration system has also been installed in the cold storage and server rooms as well as in the operations centre, guaranteeing the new hotel discreet but highly qualified protection against fire.
