Securex Caspian: Advanced Security Technologies
From September 24 to 26, the 14th International Exhibition for Internal Security, Safety and Rescue Equipment Securex Caspian took place at the Baku Expo Center. It was held concurrently with the 5th Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition ADEX, dedicated to the defense industry. It was held concurrently with the 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition ADEX.
The central event highlighting the significance of this event was the visit of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to these exhibitions. The head of state toured major international pavilions as well as the national stands.
The Securex Caspian exhibition showcased advanced equipment models for law enforcement, border security, rescue, and firefighting services, as well as for special services. A demonstration of emergency rescue equipment and tools for operational and investigative activities generated significant interest. Visitors were drawn to video surveillance systems, access control and management systems, specialized clothing and gear, vehicles for law enforcement agencies, forensic tools, fire safety equipment, and much more.
The exhibition was attended by leaders of Azerbaijani law enforcement, emergency rescue, and border control agencies, as well as international delegations and specialists in urban infrastructure, transportation, and industrial facility security. Over the three days, numerous bilateral meetings took place between participants and representatives of relevant Azerbaijani agencies, along with international delegations.
In 2024, the scale of the ADEX and Securex Caspian exhibitions expanded further, showcasing a growth in the exposition compared to previous editions. This year, the exhibitions have occupied the entire area of the Baku Expo Center, including its newly opened 4th hall and outdoor space.
The ADEX and Securex Caspian exhibitions were attended by over 9,300 professional visitors. Nearly 270 participants from 40 countries took part at the events. In addition to Azerbaijan, the participating countries included Belarus, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine, UK, USA, and the others. This year’s exhibitions have been refreshed with new companies, which make up 34% of the total number of participants.
Fourteen countries were represented by national pavilions, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, Czech Republic, China, Italy, Israel, Hungary, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, and Ukraine. Compared to 2022, the number of the exhibition participants has increased by 32%.
The exhibition has presented access control and management systems, CCTV systems, equipment for operational-search activities, fire safety, forensic tools and systems, information security, rescue vehicles and equipment, security education, security services, special clothing and equipment, special vehicles for law enforcement authorities, weapons and ammunition and other types of products and more.
A comprehensive business program has been developed for the ADEX and Securex Caspian exhibitions. During the exhibitions, the “National Military Industry Complex of the Future” startup project was presented. In 2022, the “Vision 2022 – National Military Industry Complex of the Future” project, held as part of the “ADEX” and “Securex Caspian” exhibitions, was a great success. Inspired by this success, startups again had the opportunity to showcase their projects at the 2024 “ADEX” and “Securex Caspian” exhibitions. The “National Military Industry Complex of the Future” project featured startups in defense technologies, protection, rescue, robotics, and cybersecurity.
Additionally, numerous business meetings were held during the event, facilitating bilateral discussions between exhibition participants, representatives of relevant Azerbaijani institutions, and international delegations.
Panel discussions on topics such as “Non-contact biometric identity authentication solutions”, “Radiation safety, security of radioactive sources, and response to accidents” and “Regulation of international oversight on the ethical use of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity and the military industry” took place during the three exhibition days.
The “Securex Caspian” exhibition was supported by the Ministry of Defense Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Border Service of Azerbaijan Republic, and, for the first time, the Special State Protection Service. In 2024, the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated in the “Securex Caspian” exhibition with its own stand.
The event was organized by Caspian Event Organisers and its international partner, Caspian Event Management.
