SA Fire Protection attain FM Approval on a range of manual, self-oscillating and remote-control monitors.
There is now a large selection of monitors within the extensive range of firefighting monitors in the SA Fire portfolio, which have FM Approval.
The FM Approval Certificate of Compliance was for the assembly of the following firefighting monitors:
- Hand Lever Iguana Manual Monitor
- Hand Wheeled Niagara Manual Monitor
- Chain operated Niagara Manual Monitor
- Self-Oscillating Niagara Monitor
- Electric Niagara Remote-Controlled Monitor (SIL2)

In addition to the Monitor bodies the following accessories where also certified and approved as part of the certification granted to SA Fire:
- Jet/ Fog Nozzle for hand lever, hand wheeled and self-oscillating monitors
- Jet/ Fog Nozzle for chain operated monitors
- Jet/ Fog Nozzle for electric monitors
- The Self-Oscillating unit
Each of the above-mentioned products has been rigorously tested by FM engineers to ensure they comply with the highest standards which are required to tackle exposures and to protect facilities. Each of the newly FM Approved monitors and their accessories are made from bronze material. The Iguana model is available with a flow rate of up to 4000 lpm, whereas the Niagara models are available with much higher flows ranging from 4000 lpm –20000 lpm.
With the new FM approval, the purchaser and contractors can install SA Fire Monitors at a host of different facilities with a peace of mind that the fire protection systems installed are to an internationally acceptable standard. The inclusion of such FM Approved equipment ensures that materials are used to form an effective system that is designed to address onsite exposures and protect facilities.
All of the monitors and their accessories are made in Italy at the SA Fire Protection plants.
