Rotating Turret TPM/G

The rotating turrets is an accessory of the monitor towers which is used together with remote controlled electric, electro-hydraulic and hydraulic monitors. The installation of a rotating turrets allow to an increase in performance of the monitor installation as well as creating a safer operation condition for feature maintenance operation.

The presence of the rotating turret results in an additional elevation of approximately 1,75 m which is added to the monitor elevation and that allow the monitor to elevate itself above the safety hand rails of the platform. Such higher elevation avoids the interference of the nozzle jet with the handrails when the monitor is discharging in negative angles and in the same way avoids the fog 30° and 60° to be distorted on the platform. From the safety of operation point of view, the rotating platform offers a confined space for maintenance where activities can be carried out with no need to lean over. Moreover, the access to the rotating platform can be regulated by a local inhibit device which exclude the remote controls of the monitor under service.

The rotating turret rotate on the horizontal plane only and it is directly connected to the hosted monitor which provides the power of rotation through the same horizontal actuator. The NIAGARA series automatic monitors are all designed for this additional momentum due to the weight of the turrets and monitor that moves on top of a bearing. The bearing block is sealed and protected against whether conditions and salty atmospheres ensuring long operating life. The turrets are available with 4” inlet and 4” outlet flange, 4” inlet and 6” outlet flange as well as 6” inlet and 6” outlet flange.
