ROCKWOOL launches SP FireStop EN a linear cavity fire stopping product developed to meet the latest EN fire standards
To support the fire protection industry in meeting the latest EN fire standards, insulation manufacturer ROCKWOOL® has developed SP FireStop EN – an expansion of its current range of cavity fire stopping products. SP FireStop EN was launched at this year’s FIREX.
SP FireStop EN features a new black aluminium foil facing for higher emissivity. It has a fire rating of EI120 in cavities up to 600mm* and is available in two thicknesses – SP FireStop EN 60 (75mm) and SP FireStop EN 120 (90mm). The range has undergone a rigorous testing schedule in accordance with the most recent test standard for linear joint seals, BS EN 1366-4:2021, including for use with Steel Frame Substrates and composite panels.
Further, ROCKWOOL has tested SP FireStop EN against an ‘installation from below’ scenario, to support specific applications or reclad projects where installation options may be restricted.

SP FireStop EN is part of ROCKWOOL’s FirePro® range, which has been developed to provide passive fire protection solutions for a wide range of applications. The range includes products for penetration seals, linear gap seals, and cavity barriers, as well as a range of fire-resistant insulation materials.
