PHOS-CHEK 1% Fluorine Free supplied by PHOS-CHEK
PHOS-CHEK 1% Fluorine Free is a low viscosity fluorine free foam concentrate formulated with a special combination of hydrocarbon surfactants.
Giving it excellent foaming, extinguishing and burnback properties. PHOS-CHEK 1% Fluorine Free does not contain any organohalogenated compounds. It can be used to extinguish hydrocarbons fires.
PHOS-CHEK 1% Fluorine Free 1 is formulated for use with low expansion nozzles and will generate foams with high fluidity and slow drainage. It is used on hydrocarbon fires and can be applied with forceful application; a capability up until now reserved for AFFF agents.
Unlike the AFFF agents, it does not form an aqueous film on hydrocarbons because it does not contain fluorinated surfactants. Its excellent extinguishing performance is due to its excellent foaming capacity, high water retention and great oleophobicity.
Due to the lack of this aqueous film, it is recommended to cover the fuel with a layer of foam thick enough to prevent that the fuel surface from being exposed and reignited.
