International Water Mist Conference 2026 will take place in Prague
Max Lakkonen (IFAB), President of the International Water Mist Association (IWMA), has announced that the 25th International Water Mist Conference (#IWMC2026) will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, on 7th and 8th October 2026. The prestigious event will take place at The Grand Hotel International.
The event schedule is now available on the IWMA website. The first key milestone is 15th December 2025, when the call for papers will be issued, and sponsorship tabletop bookings will open for the exhibition that runs alongside the conference.
Reflecting on a highly successful 2025 conference, which welcomed nearly 170 attendees from 25 countries, IWMA President Max Lakkonen shared:
“We have been positively surprised by the number of attendees and sponsors, which clearly demonstrates the strong momentum of our industry.”
Building on this momentum, the association aims to make the 2026 edition an even greater success, fostering knowledge exchange and innovation within the fire suppression and water mist community.
The deadline to submit applications for the Ragnar Wighus Award is 31st March 2026. This prestigious award will recognise the author of the best master’s thesis related to water mist technology. Submissions will be evaluated by the IWMA Scientific Council, chaired by Kemal Sarp Arsava of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and the winner will be invited to present their thesis during the conference in Prague.
