Some jobs, especially those dealing with metallic materials, need some extra power to complete. Some industries and small businesses frequently use tools that can cut, bend or snap a metal to the desired shape. An excellent example of such a tool is the hydraulic cutter. A hydraulic cutter, just like a hydraulic spreader or hydrailic ram, use hydraulics to generate the power needed to cut through tough materials. With this tool, you can work more efficiently and safely, unlike when using a circular saw which has safety concerns and takes longer to get the job done.
Hydraulic cutter uses
Most cutting tools, like those of Holmatro are specially developed depending on the targeted use. Markets, where a hydraulic cutter is widely used, include recycling, demolition, foundry and construction. Tools used in scrap and demolition purposes in the scrap industry are frequently, meaning they should have a minimum working pressure to reduce wear and tear and high-frequency reliability.
How it works
Just like manual cutters, hydraulic cutting tools have a mouth that opens and closes to your desired width. The mouth is sharp to enable the cutter to tear through tough materials such as metal and wires. You can easily tear off a car roof or a metal door using this tool. The cutters are made of an aluminium-alloy housing and the blades a made of forged, heat-treated steel to avoid breaking. The piston and the piston rod are also made of heat-treated alloy steel to enhance the strength and durability of the cutter.
Cutters have a curved, claw-like extension at the mouth which is a little different from other cutting tools. The hydraulic cutting tools have a cylinder full of hydraulic fluid that helps produce the required force by placing pressure on the piston. The jaws will either open or close depending on the side of the piston you exert the force. The mouth opens when the piston rod is raised and closes when the piston rod is lowered. The closed claws have enough strength to exert pressure on a structure such as a car body and cut through it. Cutters come in different sizes, so you can choose the one that fits your need.
