CCS JV (a joint venture between Chiyoda, McDermott and Saipem), have recently awarded SAFire on its Mozambique LNG project.
The project is a two-train (nominal 6.44 MTPA per train), LNG facility using APCI liquefaction technology. CCS JV have selected SAFire to fabricate Remote Controlled Fire Monitor Systems and Deluge Valves for LNG/Condensate Jetty Platforms. Theses fire protection systems will be installed to protect the manifold areas, both on the ship and on the jetty, and the full length of the loading arms for LNG.
SAFire will design and produce the electro-hydraulic monitors and deluge valves in its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in San Pier Niceto (ME), Italy. The remote-controlled monitors will be operated via a redundant fibre optic and PLC based control system also part of SAFire package and which will be designed and manufactured in SAFire plant of Cascina (PI), Italy.
The LNG facility, one of the largest investments in the energy sector, will be built at a remote coastal location in Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado province and it is expected to be in commercial operation by 2024.
The feed stream is designed to feed the LNG plant which will include gas/liquid separation, gas treatment (removal of acid gas, dehydration and mercury), heavy component (C5+) removal followed by gas liquefaction, storage and export.
