Fire Fighting Foam Concentrates for Fixed Systems
For fixed fire fighting systems (Foam Enhanced Sprinkler & Deluge Systems) Sthamer offers a range of foam concentrates designed to match the specific conditions in fixed installations.
These products bear the acronym ‘FXS’. They are high-performance, customer needs-based and durable products that retain their performance for many years. Naturally, there is the prerequisite of optimal, on-site storage conditions as well as meticulous planning and design of the fire fighting system. A fixed foam fire fighting system will reliably protect industrial property and the related jobs only if the focus is set upon choosing compatible and reliable components along with high-quality foam concentrates.
Our comprehensive range of services around fire fighting foams include to verify and document the individual practical value. If you would like to learn more about this, please ask for our technical support for fire fighting foams.

Description
vaPUREx® FXS PLY 1% F-0 s a synthetic special foam concentrate for fixed extingusihing systems and for fighting plastic fires.
vaPUREx® FXS PLY 1% F-0 can be used for generating low- and medium expansion foam.
Surfactants based on natural renewable resources, and stabilizers components characterize the formulation of this powerful fluorine free firefighting foam.
vaPUREx® FXS PLY 1% F-0 is biologically easy and completely degradable, contains no fluorine or silicone compounds and no preservatives.
Properties
vaPUREx® FXS PLY 1% F-0 expands very easily. Depending on the foam generating components of an installation and the quantity ratio between the premix solution and the air, a flowable and wet foam (low expansion foam) can be produced with a small amount of air, and a wet and flowable foam (medium expansion foam) with higher air proportions.
vaPUREx® FXS PLY 1% F-0 foam extinguishes plastic fires reliably and offers a good burn back stability. The foam is insensitive and stable against heat radiation, smoke and air movements. This reduces the risk of reignition of already extinguished fires.
vaPUREx® FXS PLY 1% F-0 reduces the surface tension of the water considerably and is therefore very suitable for use as a wetting agent.
Application
vaPUREx® FXS PLY 1% F-0 is used for generating low or medium expansion foam in all commonly available foam-water spriklers, low expansion foam sprinklers and medium expansion foam devices for extinguishing plastic fires. The proportioning rate for generating low- or medium expansion foam is 1%.
The excellent effectiveness of vaPUREx® FXS PLY 1% F-0 is not affected by the use of sea water, brackish water or treated industrial water (without foam destroying components).
The low- and medium expansion foam generated from vaPUREx® FXS PLY 1% F-0 can be used for firefighting in open as well as inside buildings and machinery.
Environment
None of the raw materials used in our products are banned. Our foam concentrates comply with the latest environmental regulati-ons, such as ‘Commission Regulation (EU) No 757/2010’, amending ‘(EC) No 850/2004.’
vaPUREx® FXS PLY 1% F-0 will also comply with the ‘significant new use rule (SNUR)’ for long-chain perfluoroalkyl carboxylate proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency, which will come into effect in due course.
