Securiton have delivered a first class Fire detection for Refrigerated Storage solution for PFD that combines aspiration technology with high sensitivity detectors. This results in reliable warning at the earliest possible time. The system is based on 13 high sensitivity detectors featuring heated sampling points which are temperature controlled for automatic deicing.
The beginnings of PFD Food Services date back to 1864, when J Hill & Son started business as a fresh fish merchant, operating from the Melbourne wholesale fish markets. In 1943, J Hill’s directors decided to form a company that sold processed fish, which was not liable to price control. During the years after the war, PFD expanded its product line to include items such as frozen peas, pies and ice cream.
The newly built Victorian Distribution Centre is in operation since spring 2018. The new 24,000 square meter building with 14-metre-high ceilings and multi-temperature environments is housing a freezer of 8,500 square meters and a 5,500 square meter refrigerated cooler room equipped with Fire detection for Refrigerated Storage. Today, it’s the workplace for 200 employees.
