The Passive Fire Protection Federation (PFPF) recognise that the performance of all construction materials is dependant upon the way in which the product is installed. For this reason the PFPF has always favoured third party accreditation of both materials and installers. Approved Document B recommends that certified products and accredited parties should be used as a means of insuring that the products achieve the required level of performance.
Fire Barrier Services provide full certification for all work undertaken which is supported by the inspection and certification of FIRAS, a third party independant accredited inspectorate.

Fire Barrier Services are members of FIRAS, which is an accreditation scheme administered by Warrington Fire Research for installers of passive fire protection systems. The scheme was developed to enable installers to gain the necessary levels of skill, through training, to ensure systems fitted on site are to the correct standards.
Both managers and installation engineers at Fire Barrier Services are FIRAS trained in the selection and application of passive fire protection systems. Workmanship on site is continually monitored by FIRAS through random site inspections and audit checks of the project quality management systems. By using a FIRAS registered contractor works will be carried out by knowledgeable companies to appropriate standards, offering clients peace of mind.
The company is also a member of the Fire Protection Association (FPA), which is the UK’s national fire safety organisation. The FPA promotes continuous improvement in all aspects of the fire protection industry, along with education and training of all those involved in the development, specification and use of passive fire protection systems.
Fire Barrier Services are also certified by Constructionline, which is the UK Register of Qualified Construction Services. This certification ensures Fire Barrier Services have reached the required technical, managerial and financial standards as laid down by the Construction Directorate of the Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions.
