The valve Mod. VD/RPOF/EP is an electropneumatic actuated pressure regulating deluge valve available in diameter sizes from 2” (DN 50) to 10” (DN 250).
The pressure regulating deluge valves Mod. VD/RPOF/EP are used to control the pressure of water or foam/water flow for water spray or foam fire protection systems.
In normal operating conditions, the deluge valve is held closed by the control solenoid valve. In case of fire the solenoid valve will open allowing the valve to control the downstream pressure. When the solenoid valve is commanded to close also the deluge valve will return in closed position.
The pressure regulating deluge valve Mod. VD/PROF/EP is available in vertical or horizontal configuration. The cover plate allows in-line maintenance and field replace of the diaphragm.
The materials of construction make it suitable for being used with sea water or water foam solution within industrial harsh environments & offshore applications.
Principle of operation
Valve closed the solenoid valve is closed, and the priming chamber is pressurized through the calibrated orifice. The pressure of the water trapped in the priming chamber holds the diaphragm on the valve seat, keeping the valve closed. The pilot valve and the control chamber are isolated by the hydraulic actuator.
In normal operating conditions (valve open) the opening of the solenoid valve will cause the opening of the pneumatic actuator, putting in connection the control chamber with the pilot valve that will start the modulation of the diaphragm position in order to follow the downstream pressure set.
