Since the introduction of the first Globe Issue “A” Sprinkler in 1914, the Globe name has persisted in its enduring identity and continued innovation, developing the earliest lever-fulcrum dry pipe valve, Globe Save All center strut sprinklers, and eventually becoming the first US company to utilize 5mm and 3mm Glass Bulbs in its commercial and residential sprinklers.

In 2014, the company was recognized by the State of Michigan as a recipient of the prestigious 2014 Prosperity Award. The Prosperity Award is presented to a Michigan business that represents “strength, innovation, growth and community enhancement.”

The Globe GL-Series Residential Pendent Sprinklers have a low profile yet durable design, which utilize a 3mm frangible glass ampule as the thermosensitive element. They feature economy, pleasing aesthetics and low flow with K-Factors ranging from 3.0K to 5.6K.

The Globe Model GL4231 and GL4431 Residential Horizontal Sidewall Sprinklers have a durable design, which utilizes a 3mm frangible, glass ampule as the thermosensitive element. They feature economy, pleasing aesthetics and a low flow with 4.2K and 4.4K factors.

The Globe Quick Response GL Series Concealed Pendent Sprinkler is a low profile, aesthetically pleasing design. It provides sprinkler operation approximately six times faster than ordinary sprinklers and can be installed wherever standard concealed spray sprinklers are specified when allowed by the applicable standards. It offers the additional feature of greatly increased safety to life and should be used advisedly and under the direction of approving authorities having jurisdiction.

Globe’s Concealed Sprinkler utilizes its 3mm frangible glass ampule type sprinkler which is located above the ceiling and concealed from view by the ceiling plate. The ceiling plate is soldered to the sprinkler’s special upper support assembly in three places. Upon the application of sufficient heat, the plate falls to the floor exposing the quick response pendent spray sprinkler. At the ampule’s rated temperature, the sprinkler opens discharging water onto the floor in its required and approved distribution pattern. A special spring is attached to the pendent sprinkler deflector that serves to provide a constant tension against the ceiling plate.
