Chinese solar panel manufacturer relies on Securiton
Solar panel manufacturer Aiko Solar Energy is protecting key infrastructure at its plant in Yiwu in eastern China with high-quality early warning fire detection systems. The project management team specified Securiton’s sensitive SecuriSmoke ADS 535 detectors and intelligent SecuriLink UMS safety management system.
Aiko Solar Energy is a China-based company focused on the research and development, manufacture and sale of solar panels. The company currently ships solar panels from three locations in China, Foshan, Yiwu and Tianjin. At its easternmost plant in Yiwu, not far from the city of Hangzhou, Aiko Solar specialises in the manufacture of high-performance PERC cells. PERC modules increase the efficiency of photovoltaic panels by reflecting some of the light that reaches the rear of the cell without generating electricity back into the cell.
Aiko Solar is aiming to increase its manufacturing capacity over the next few years by utilising the existing site in Yiwu and expanding its production plant there. This step will enable Aiko to meet the growing demand for high-efficiency solar cells, the company says. Almost 100 of Securiton’s SecuriSmoke ASD535-3 detectors protect the production plant and laboratory at the research and development facility by triggering an alarm in the event of a nascent fire. The operators maintain a constant overview of the safety systems thanks to the SecuriLink UMS.
