ON BOARD! – C-TEC’s MD Appointed to FIA Board and Council
C-TEC’s Managing Director, Andrew Foster, has been elected to the Fire Industry Association (FIA) Board of Directors and reappointed to its Fire Detection and Alarm (FD&A) Council. This marks another milestone in his longstanding contribution to the UK’s fire safety and life-protection industry.
Andrew Foster began his career as an electrical engineer before founding C-TEC in 1981, now recognised as one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of life-safety and fire alarm systems. Known for his commitment to R&D, UK manufacturing, and technical excellence, Andrew continues to drive C-TEC’s innovation in developing open-protocol, future-ready systems.

In addition to Andrew’s appointment, Dan Foster, C-TEC’s Director of Science, has joined the FIA’s newly formed Technology Council. Dan oversees the design, certification, and safety of C-TEC’s product range, ensuring ongoing compliance and advancing best practices in fire safety engineering. His new position within the FIA will help strengthen collaboration and guide technological progress within the sector.
